SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif./EWORLDWIRE/Feb. 24, 2004 --- Glowgranny.com, a leading online glow product retailer, is attempting to lighten up the image of glow sticks.

"Recently, glow sticks have been getting a lot of bad publicity," explains Angela Fissell, co-owner of glowgranny.com. "The unfortunate association between glow sticks, rave parties, and drug use has resulted in some local and state governments labeling glow sticks as drug paraphernalia. With recent media emphasis on the negative uses for glow sticks, it's easy to lose sight of the many other positive uses for glow products that we have based our company on."

Angela and her husband Jeremy, owners of glowgranny.com, started their internet-based company in September of 2003 to repackage glow products into a more family-oriented, fun product.

"About ninety-five percent of our business consists of soccer moms and various groups purchasing glow sticks for fundraising or give-a-ways at child-friendly, nighttime events," adds Fissell. "Glow sticks are a great way to raise money for any organization and are commonly used as party supplies, a safe candy alternative at Halloween, and as a safe replacement for fireworks on the
Fourth of July."

With this family-oriented philosophy in mind, the Fissells decided on the name glowgranny.com and used a cartoon "Granny" as the centerpiece of their website.

"We wanted a memorable name that would represent fun,
kids, family, and safety, and we felt that the Glow Granny character was the perfect choice. We really hope to get the word out that glow sticks are safe and fun for kids and don't have to be associated with drugs and raves."
